There is no such thing as a single parent...
Single or married God is our co-parent.
Some families even set a plate for God at the table.
When your children confound you try asking their other parent
(their Father in Heaven)what you should do.

This weeks verses are about giving children a "Sense of Belonging",
of being CONNECTED to God, family and Church.
(Scroll to the bottom of the page for some interesting research on

RISK FACTORS are situations in a child's life that make him vulnerable
to illegal or injurious activities
such as drugs and gang membership
Among the most common risk factors are poverty, and a parent in prison.
The number one risk factor according to the most recent research is ...divorce.
The children of divorce have a very special risk for addictions of every kind.
They are more likely to spend time in prison and more prone to illnesses of every kind.
For special helps for the children of divorce we invite you to visit; www.childrenafterdivorce.com.)

PROTECTIVE OR RESILIENCY FACTORS are things that can be ADDED
to the life of an at risk child that neutralize the risk factor(s) in his or her life.
According to studies by the University of Wisconsin and National 4-H Council:
The number one protective/resiliency Factor for "At Risk" children
is a close relationship with at least one adult.
The second and third most powerful protective factors are:
A personal relationship with God
and REGULAR church attendance.

An great additional protective factor spotlighted by Dr. Karl Menninger and Margaret Mead
at a national convention for child care providers sponsored by "The villages"
is providing at risk children with
"A sense of belonging ...of being connected."

Giving children "Something to do...something that matters"
truly helps connect them to family and church for life.
We pray your church will pray earnestly about giving children

"Something to do".

In place of a bonus activity we renew our invitation to visit www.childrenafterdivorce.com.
Divorce is the number one problem of our nations children and
local churches should be as involved as possible!!!!

Helping families Before a Divorce,
During a divorce and
After a divorce.
Is what Jesus would do
and would like his church to do.

We especially invite step parents to visit
"Whistle While you Work"
DOING this one simple thing almost guarantees your child
will never spend time in prison.

We pray also that this email is forwarded to parents
who have or are experiencing divorce. And may they visit
